What is Recite a Quran, Give a Quran?
Recite a Quran, Give a Quran (RQGQ) is a free Ramadan challenge by Tarteel. If you read or recite 90% or more of the Quran during Ramadan using the Tarteel app, we'll donate a physical mushaf (Quran) on your behalf to a Muslim in need.
This is the sixth year of the campaign. Past donations have reached communities in Syria, Tanzania, and Ghana.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I join the challenge?
Download the Tarteel app (if you haven't already)
Start reciting — your progress is tracked automatically
It’s that easy!
What counts toward my 90% completion?
Any recitation or reading tracked through Tarteel during the challenge period counts — listening mode, recitation mode, and (for Premium users) manually logged offline sessions.
Do I have to recite from my phone?
Not at all — there are two ways to participate without reciting directly from the app:
Recite from your mushaf with the mic on: Open Tarteel, enable the microphone, and recite from your physical mushaf. The app will track your recitation as you go.
Log sessions manually: If you have Tarteel Premium or the Alim plan, you can manually log your recitation sessions and they'll count toward your 90%.
Can I participate without an internet connection?
Yes — you can read from the Tarteel app offline and it will count as a reading session. You don't need to have the microphone on for it to track your progress.
Is there a cost to participate?
No. Joining is completely free. Tarteel Premium is optional and not required to take part.
Where will the Quran be donated?
The mushaf is donated on your behalf to a Muslim in need — it won't be sent to you directly. Qurans are distributed to communities across multiple regions through trusted distribution partners who ensure they reach those who need them most.
Will my name be on the donated mushaf?
No — the mushaf won't carry your name. But know that the reward for this act of charity is recorded with Allah, and your recitation is what made it possible. It's sadaqah jariyah in its truest form.
How will I know when I've completed the challenge?
Tarteel tracks your progress in real time. Once you hit 90%, you'll receive in-app confirmation that a Quran will be donated on your behalf.
Can I still join if I started late?
Yes, but you'll need to recite more pages per day to reach 90% before March 20. Start as soon as possible and stay consistent.
Can I participate if I'm not fasting?
Absolutely. The challenge is about Quran recitation and is open to everyone, regardless of fasting status.
Will a second mushaf be donated if I complete the Quran more than once?
Only one mushaf is donated per user who completes 90% of the Quran, regardless of how many times they complete it. That said, we encourage everyone to recite and listen to the Quran as much as possible in this blessed month and by Allah’s mercy, He will multiply His reward for your intention.
What if I don't reach 90%?
A donated mushaf requires hitting the 90% threshold, but any recitation you complete still counts as ibadah and deepens your connection to the Quran.
