My progress, streak, or goals are missing or not updating

Your progress, streaks, and goals are central to your Tarteel experience — so we understand how frustrating it can be when something looks off. Whether your data seems to have disappeared or your goal tracking isn't updating the way you expect, the steps below will help you troubleshoot.


Log Out and Log Back In

This single step helps resolves the issue for most users. Logging out and back in triggers a resync with our servers, which can restore missing data and fix tracking issues.

  1. Open Tarteel and go to your Account page.

  2. Tap Log Out.

  3. Log back in using the same sign-in method you originally used (email, Google, or Apple).

  4. Once logged in, check whether your progress, streak, stats, or goal tracking have returned to normal.

If everything looks correct, you're all set. If not, continue with the steps below.


If Your Goal or Khatma Specifically Isn't Updating

If you've logged out and back in and your goal or Khatma progress still isn't moving, check the following before continuing with further troubleshooting:

  • Confirm you're reciting within the goal's scope. Goals and Khatmas can be set with specific parameters — such as a particular surah range or recitation mode or even the start and end date of your goal. If you recite outside of those parameters, it won't count toward your goal. Double-check the surah range or section your goal covers, and make sure you're reciting in the correct mode (e.g., recitation mode, not listening mode) as well as within the date rage you set for the goal.

  • Force-close and reopen the app. Sometimes the progress display just needs a refresh. Fully close the app — not just minimize it — and reopen it.

    • On iOS: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen (or double-press the Home button) to open the app switcher, then swipe Tarteel away.

    • On Android: Open your recent apps view and swipe Tarteel away, or go to Settings > Apps > Tarteel > Force Stop.

  • Check your internet connection. Goal progress syncs with our servers, so an unstable connection can cause delays. Try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data if one seems unreliable.

Important: Do not delete and recreate your goal — this may result in losing your existing progress data.


Check for App Updates

Make sure you're running the latest version of Tarteel from the App Store or Google Play Store. We regularly release updates that include fixes for data sync and display issues.


Clear Cache and Reinstall

If your data is still missing or not updating after the steps above:

  1. On Android: Go to your device Settings, find Tarteel under Apps, and tap "Clear Cache."

  2. On iOS: Uninstalling and reinstalling the app is the equivalent step.

  3. After reinstalling, log back into the same account — your data is tied to your login and should resync from our servers.

Important: Reinstalling is a troubleshooting step, not a guaranteed fix. If your data does not reappear after logging back in, the issue may require investigation on our end.

  • Your operating system version (e.g., iOS 18.1, Android 15)

  • Your Tarteel app version (you can find this at the bottom of the app's "About Tarteel" screen, accessible from the Account page)

  • Your country

  • Whether you were on Wi-Fi or mobile data

  • Whether you're using a VPN, ad blocker, or any network-filtering software

  • Your account email address and username

  • A screenshot showing the issue, if possible
