Sometimes Tarteel flags a mistake on a word you recited correctly. We know how frustrating that is, especially in the middle of a test. This article explains why it happens, how to reduce it, and how to remove a wrongly flagged mistake so it doesn't count against your score.
Why This Happens
Tarteel recognizes your recitation live from your microphone, so anything that muddies the audio can cause a false flag:
Background noise: traffic, fans, appliances, or people talking nearby.
Other Arabic speech in the room: a TV, radio, or someone else reciting can be picked up as part of your recitation.
Car or Bluetooth microphones: these often compress audio and pick up road noise, which makes recognition less accurate.
The model's own limits: recognition is very good but not perfect, and the occasional wrong flag can happen even in a clean setup.
Tips for a Clean Setup
Test in a quiet room, away from other voices and screens playing audio.
Use your phone's built-in microphone rather than a Bluetooth headset or car system.
Keep the phone within comfortable reach. You don't need to hold it to your mouth, but don't leave it across the room.
Recite clearly at your natural pace.
How to Remove a Wrong Mistake
You can remove a mistake in two ways: straight away on the card, or later from the mistakes list. Both have the same effect on your score.
Remove it as it happens
When Tarteel flags a word you recited correctly, tap that highlighted word on the card. The mistake is removed, and you can keep reciting.
This is the quickest way, but it only works while the question is on screen.
Remove it any time during the test
Tap the red mistakes counter at the bottom of the test screen. This opens the mistakes list, showing every mistake made this session.
Find the wrongly flagged mistake and delete it.
Use this way when you noticed the mistake too late, or when you want to review several mistakes at once. It works for any question in the session, not just the current one.
If you remove all of a question's mistakes, that question changes from failed to passed, and your score updates.
