Use this article to redeem a Tarteel Family Plan gift card, set up your Family Plan, and invite members. It also explains what happens when the Family Plan gift card ends after 12 months.
This article is for the person who received a Family Plan gift card code. The person who redeems the Family Plan gift card becomes the Family Plan manager. The Family Plan manager invites members to the Family Plan and can remove them.
Who should redeem the Family Plan gift card?
The person who will manage the Family Plan should redeem the Family Plan gift card on their own Tarteel account. Only the Family Plan manager needs a Family Plan gift card. Up to 4 other people join the Family Plan for free through an invite link, so a Family Plan has space for 5 people, including the Family Plan manager.
Each Family Plan gift card code works only once. Make sure that you redeem the Family Plan gift card on the account that will manage the Family Plan.
How do I redeem a Family Plan gift card?
The person who bought the Family Plan gift card gets the gift card code by email. To redeem the Family Plan gift card:
Get the gift card code from the person who bought the Family Plan gift card.
Go to tarteel.ai/gift-cards/redeem.
Enter the gift card code in the "Gift code" box.
Click "Redeem". If you are not logged in, click "Sign in to redeem" and log in with the account that will manage the Family Plan.
The page shows "Redemption successful" with 1 year of Tarteel Premium. Your Family Plan starts at once, and we email you your Family Plan invite link.
How do I invite members to my Family Plan?
After you redeem the Family Plan gift card, you can invite up to 4 people with your Family Plan invite link. You can find your Family Plan invite link in these places:
The welcome email that we send after you redeem the Family Plan gift card.
On our website: go to tarteel.ai/account. In the Family Plan section, click "Copy" next to "Invite Link".
In the Tarteel app: open the menu, tap the profile icon, tap "Manage Family Plan", then tap "Share Invite".
Send the Family Plan invite link to each person. To join, each person follows the steps in How do I join a Family Plan?
Can I redeem a Family Plan gift card if I already have Premium?
You can redeem a Family Plan gift card only when your account does not have Tarteel Premium. This includes Premium from a subscription, a free trial, or someone else's Family Plan. If you try to redeem while you have Premium, the page tells you that you already have Premium, and your gift card code is not used.
To redeem the Family Plan gift card, wait until your current Premium ends. If you have a subscription, cancel it first so that it does not renew. Cancelling does not end your Premium at once: your Premium continues until the end of the period that you paid for. Read How to cancel my subscription. If you are on someone else's Family Plan, leave that Family Plan first.
Can I get a refund for a Family Plan gift card?
Family Plan gift cards are non-refundable. We cannot give a refund for a Family Plan gift card.
What happens when a Family Plan gift card ends?
A Family Plan gift card gives 12 months of the Family Plan. The Family Plan gift card does not renew, so Premium stops for the Family Plan manager and all Family Plan members after 12 months. To start the same Family Plan again, the Family Plan manager can:
Buy the Family Plan at tarteel.ai/pricing.
Redeem a new Family Plan gift card on the same account at tarteel.ai/gift-cards/redeem.
Family Plan members get Premium again at once, without a new invite.
