You can move your existing Premium or Alim subscription onto a Family Plan yourself. You do not need to contact us, and you do not need to cancel anything first.
This article is for subscribers who pay through our website. If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, read How do I switch to the Family Plan if I subscribed on Apple or Google? instead.
The Family Plan is billed annually and is only sold on our website. There is no monthly option.
How to switch
Log in at tarteel.ai, then go to tarteel.ai/pricing or tarteel.ai/family.
Find the Family Plan card. The button reads "Switch to Family Plan".
Click it. You go straight to the Stripe checkout page.
Check the total, then complete the payment.
Your Family Plan starts right away. You can then invite up to 4 other people from the Family Plan section of your account page.
What happens to my current subscription?
We cancel it for you as soon as your Family Plan payment succeeds. You will not be billed for it again, and you do not need to cancel it yourself.
We do not refund it. Annual subscribers get a credit instead, explained below.
If you close the checkout page without paying, nothing changes. Your current subscription stays active.
Do I get anything back for the time I already paid for?
That depends on your billing cycle.
Annual subscriptions: yes. We work out the unused part of what you paid and take it off the Family Plan price. You see it on the checkout page as a discount named "Credit for current subscription".
Monthly subscriptions: no. Monthly subscriptions do not earn a credit. You pay the full Family Plan price.
Some subscriptions earn no credit even when they are annual:
Alim subscriptions
Free or promotional subscriptions
Subscriptions redeemed with a gift card
Subscriptions where a renewal payment failed and we are still retrying it
You can still switch in all of these cases. You just pay the full Family Plan price.
I'm on the Alim programme. Can I switch?
Yes. Click "Switch to Family Plan" in the same way. We end your Alim membership for you once your payment succeeds. Alim does not earn a credit, so you pay the full Family Plan price.
